A healthy salad inspired by the classic Big Mac flavors, combining ground beef, fresh vegetables, and a delicious dressing.

Ingredients

  • For the Dressing:
    • ½ cup mayonnaise
    • 2 tablespoons sweet relish
    • 1 tablespoon ketchup
    • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
    • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder
    • 1 teaspoon paprika
    • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • For the Salad:
    • 1 pound ground beef
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder
    • 8 cups Romaine lettuce (chopped)
    • 1 cup cherry tomatoes (halved)
    • ½ medium red onion (sliced)
    • 2 tablespoons pickle chips
    • 1 cup Cheddar cheese (shredded)
    • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional, toast for extra flavor)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Dressing: In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, sweet relish, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, yellow mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and sugar. Whisk until well combined. Set aside.
  2. Cook the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Assemble the Salad: In a large salad bowl, layer the chopped Romaine lettuce as the base. Top with the cooked beef, halved cherry tomatoes, sliced red onion, pickle chips, and shredded Cheddar cheese.
  4. Add Dressing: Drizzle the prepared dressing over the assembled salad. Toss gently to combine, ensuring all ingredients are coated with the savory dressing.
  5. Serve: Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds if desired and enjoy immediately.

Notes

Mayonnaise can be substituted with Greek yogurt for a lighter dressing. Ground beef can be replaced with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
