Cheesy Pizza Skulls are a delightful twist on traditional pizza, featuring a gooey, cheesy center in a fun skull shape that’s perfect for any gathering or family meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 package pizza dough
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • Optional toppings: sliced pepperoni, diced bell peppers, or cooked sausage
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • Flour (for dusting)
  • 1 beaten egg (for egg wash)
  • Dried herbs: oregano, basil, or Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) while you prepare the pizza skulls.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface until it is about ¼ inch thick.
  3. Cut out shapes using a skull-shaped cookie cutter and transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Add a small amount of tomato sauce to the center of each skull, then sprinkle with cheese and any additional toppings.
  5. Seal each filled skull by placing another cutout on top and pressing the edges to seal well.
  6. Brush the tops of the skulls with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until puffed up and golden brown.
  8. Cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

Don’t overfill to prevent bursting. Adjust baking time for different skull sizes.
