Deliciously rich and spiced pumpkin brownies that combine the classic flavors of chocolate and pumpkin, perfect for autumn gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 can (15 oz) pumpkin puree
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Mix the cocoa powder, sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter in a large bowl until well blended.
  3. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the flour and salt, folding gently until just combined.
  5. Layer half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading evenly.
  6. Prepare the pumpkin mixture by combining pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and sweetened condensed milk in another bowl until smooth.
  7. Spread the pumpkin mixture over the brownie layer, smoothing it out carefully.
  8. Top with the remaining brownie batter, dolloping it on top, and swirl the two layers together with a knife.
  9. Bake in the oven for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  10. Cool the brownies in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing. Ensure not to overmix and to cool completely before slicing for neat squares.
